VISION

Tales of women have been envisioned vividly where ‘mythy-kitty’ character Radha is deconstructed based on contemporary circumstances, where urban fundamentalism takes a new shape under veils, rooted deep in pain, storytelling soars. Envisioning society, culture gets framed by the visual artist, it creates an aura: beyond art.

Vision makes us alive, feel that we are living beings with motives and mission—beyond chains and shackles. This series screams out loud being static in canvas, revealing the surreal images of women and their bold attempt to create their surroundings. Their story might be different but the metaphorical endorsement is always provocative.

Preema’s ‘Staring Women’ is aesthetically real, beyond surreal, while, ‘Concept of Modern Radha’ is a new original myth. Nevertheless, ‘Cosmopolitan Women’ is the visual collage of contemporary women. They are bold, enigmatic and painful. These series are not only expressed on canvas but Preema translated them in her performances, not for mere experimentation but for understanding their evolution.

“My idea space mostly empty where people with many ideas do not enter. It’s the universe which inspire me abundantly! Because the universe is brave to be alone and hold everything within.”

– Nazia Andaleeb Preema
